2-in-1 Notebook Book One
A Flexible All-Rounder
The Porsche Design Book One is an uncompromising new interpretation of the 2-in-1 concept. The core element of our design is the clearly visible VarioGear, a special hinge made of high-quality stainless steel, which gives the Porsche Design Book One its extraordinary flexibility: you can use it both as a laptop, and, thanks to its removable display, as a tablet. In addition, the keyboard and display can be rotated 360° and flipped over to form a flat unit.

Furthermore, the keyboard and screen can be rotated through 360 degrees and folded together to form a single unit.
In doing so, we have brought to life the fascination of this gear mechanism, in line with our philosophy that function is at the heart of design. The gears, designed to resemble those in a gearbox, connect two equally sized 7.5 mm plates made of milled, anodised aluminium, into which the screen and keyboard are respectively embedded.

Rounded edges lend the device a sense of visual lightness whilst ensuring a comfortable user experience.
A particularly distinctive feature is the identical material thickness of the two aluminium halves: when closed, the notebook appears as if it were cast from a single piece.
The precisely matched surfaces come together to form a harmonious, almost seamless shape. At the same time, the fold-out design allows it to be used as a tablet without compromising on processing power or battery capacity.

The integrated tablet can, of course, be detached from the laptop and used independently as a standalone device. When used with the stylus, it opens up additional possibilities for creative work, sketching and handwritten notes. Flexible and intuitive, wherever mobility is required.
