Practicality Meets Passion

A premium product without a premium design? Unthinkable, thought the paint spray gun manufacturer SATA, and so it commissioned Studio F. A. Porsche to redesign its SATAjet 5000 and create a special edition model.

We have given the classic SATAjet 5000 a more streamlined design. To create a cleaner and clearer overall impression, we have also smoothed out the corners and edges and fitted the spray head flush with the body.

Very few people realise that paint spray guns are highly emotive objects, as they are a painter’s most important hand tool. We therefore had to approach the redesign of the spray guns with the appropriate sensitivity.

We have given the classic SATAjet 5000 a cleaner, more streamlined design. To create a neat and clear overall impression, we have also smoothed out the corners and edges and fitted the spray head flush with the body.

For the special edition, the SATAjet 5000 PHASER, we have opted for the classic colours of matt black and silver. The product design has been streamlined even further: to achieve this, we have replaced the fork on the trigger lever – which activates the spray mechanism – with an asymmetrical mechanism.

Although this is a sophisticated design, the resulting smoother surfaces are also significantly easier to clean. The result is a product that is both minimalist and practical.
