The Kitchen for Men

The intention was to create a kitchen, luxurious, technically inspired and minimalistic, that would appeal to men. Men are typically interested in appliances but hardly in the rest of the kitchen furniture. That’s why Porsche Design focused with particular emphasis on the design of the entire system.

The P’7340 is characterised by its consistently technical and minimalist design. All cabinet and frame surfaces are made from dark anodised aluminium, which gives the kitchen a high-quality and striking appearance. The cabinets are constructed from particularly lightweight sandwich panels that combine stability with low weight.

The fronts are available in either brushed Corsican pine or dark oak, adding natural accents to the otherwise minimalist design. There are no visible handles whatsoever – instead, sensor buttons ensure a seamless and understated look.

Lighting systems integrated into the frames create atmospheric accents or targeted illumination of work areas as required. The concept is complemented by an integrated high-tech audio-video system, which underlines the commitment to comfort and technical perfection.

With the P’7340, Studio F. A. Porsche and Poggenpohl Möbelwerke developed a fitted kitchen of the highest calibre. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology from Miele, the model combines a timeless, clean design with innovative functionality. With a price tag of around 100,000 euros, the striking, masculine P’7340 was one of the most exclusive and expensive fitted kitchens of its time.
