Front Door Series P711 - P771

The German door manufacturer Adoro, based in Munich, has been synonymous since 2010 with high-quality aluminium front doors that combine modern manufacturing technologies with a clear focus on design, precision and energy efficiency. As part of the collaboration, a new design direction was developed for Adoro’s product range. The focus was on developing a clear and timeless design language that combines architectural precision with an inviting, minimalist aesthetic.

Inviting Designs for Entrance Areas

The door manufacturer Adoro approached us on the search for inspiration for their product design. In a nutshell, they were not looking for risk-taking design studies, but doors that are both inviting and minimalist. The materials were set: aluminium, steel and glass.

The six designs in total each have their own distinctive features. In two models, we have incorporated ergonomic and inviting handles directly into large glass elements. On the one hand, this presented a technical challenge, as the glass was insulating double glazing; on the other hand, it allowed us to make the character of a door – which traditionally separates the inside from the outside – more transparent.

Not only does more light now stream into the entrance area through the door, but visitors are also visually announced. This is an effect usually associated only with doors made entirely of glass.

For all other models, we used vertical aluminium elements, whilst the rest of the frame remains concealed within the masonry, creating an overall frameless appearance. These elements were interspersed with narrow strips of glass, which complemented the minimalist design with an intriguing, light-filled detail.
