With the Aero Evo series, Studio F. A. Porsche has collaborated with the Chinese manufacturer Ovios to develop an outdoor collection for the premium market. An innovative construction principle forms the basis of the iconic design, combining technical precision with visual lightness.

The design concept behind the range is based on the interplay between presence and transparency. Generous volumes meet open structures and fluid transitions, giving the furniture a different appearance from every angle. At times sculptural and powerful, at others surprisingly delicate.

Inspired by the Californian outdoor lifestyle, the collection reinterprets classic outdoor furniture. The result is a clean, architectural design language that combines openness, comfort and elegance. The range is guided by the principles of aerodynamics. ‘Aero’ stands for flowing forms and lightness, whilst ‘Evo’ describes the further development of Ovios’ design language. The deliberate absence of superfluous ornamentation and the clean design language lend the range its striking, harmonious silhouette.

The central design concept of the series is the interplay between the load-bearing outer structure and the moulded rattan seat. The seat is integrated in such a way that it appears to float freely within the outer structure. Visually, the seat appears to be suspended within the frame, thereby creating a sense of lightness that lends the furniture its characteristic transparency.

This construction creates a clear visual effect: viewed from the front, the precise outer lines of the structure are particularly prominent, whilst the seat recedes, reinforcing the impression of a floating volume. The result is a minimalist, graphic silhouette that combines technical precision with design lightness.

The voluminous XXL rattan deliberately contrasts with the delicate construction. This creates a harmonious balance between technical precision and cosy softness.

Right from the beginning, materiality was a central element of the design. The combination of high-quality stainless steel and carefully coordinated woven elements creates a fascinating interplay between technical precision and natural warmth.

The colour schemes also reflect this ethos. Whilst the anthracite version emphasises the technical and architectural character of the collection, the light-coloured variant creates a relaxed, warm atmosphere that complements modern outdoor architecture and light-filled terraces.
