The Porsche Design BlackBerry mobile phones were devices that deliberately set themselves apart from the uniformity of the smartphone market. Their distinctive contours and the consistent combination of materials – glass, stainless steel and leather – gave the products a unique identity whilst also defining the design language of future generations of Porsche Design smartphones.

The Porsche Design Smartphone P´9981 was born into a market niche. At the time, there was no longer a hierarchy in the smartphone market. Customers did not find an offer that allowed them to differentiate themselves from other smartphone users.
The P`9981 changed that situation. Based on a very reliable BlackBerry product, the P`9981offered distinction and luxury due to its design and high-end materials. With its characteristic contour the P`9981 also determined the form language for future Porsche Design smart phone generations. The same applies to the exclusive material mix of glass, stainless steel and leather.
All these features can be found in new interpretations on the full touch P`9982 and on the QUERTY version P`9983.
