For more than a decade, Studio F. A. Porsche and Apure have collaborated on lighting solutions conceived as an integral part of architecture. With MOTUS, this shared approach takes on a new scale. What was previously embedded within architectural environments becomes a personal object: compact, portable and designed to create a distinct presence wherever it is placed.

Light without a visible source

At the heart of Motus  is Apure’s no-glare philosophy. The light source remains concealed within the object, allowing illumination to unfold indirectly into the surrounding space. Rather than drawing attention to the technology itself, the design focuses on its effect: a calm, glare-free light that shapes atmosphere while reducing visual distraction.

The design follows a clear concept. A reduced, sculptural silhouette gives the luminaire a strong architectural presence. It remains deliberately understated, allowing the light itself to take center stage. The solid glass disc is fully illuminated during operation, giving the object an exceptional sense of spatial depth and presence.

Motus brings this precision into everyday use. A touch-sensitive interface enables seamless dimming, while two colour temperatures – 2700 K and 3000 K – allow the atmosphere to shift according to its surroundings. With up to twelve hours of battery life and discreet USB-C charging, Motus moves naturally between indoor and outdoor environments, from residential spaces to hospitality and maritime settings.
