Instead of the usual 88, the instrument features an impressive 97 keys, opening up entirely new creative possibilities for musicians. High-quality materials such as ebony and Taran, whose properties are reminiscent of ivory, ensure an exceptionally authentic playing experience.

What makes the two large hybrid pianos, the ‘Grand’ and the ‘Studio’, so exceptional is not only their striking design, but above all the innovative technology inside them. Both instruments feature the original action of a concert grand piano, thereby offering a particularly authentic playing experience.

Instead of traditional piano strings, a specially developed sensor is used which behaves physically like a real string: it stretches when played whilst simultaneously measuring the velocity of the strike with precision. This makes Alpha Pianos the first manufacturer in the world to combine the complete original grand piano action – from the key to the hammer head – with state-of-the-art sensor technology.

It was destined for music legend Prince

Alpha Pianos’ extraordinary hybrid piano was to be used at the Vienna Konzerthaus during his European tour. However, the tour was postponed – his return to the stage had already been planned. Tragically, though, it was never to happen: Prince passed away unexpectedly just a few days before the tour was due to begin.

What remains is a unique masterpiece: a pink hybrid piano, crafted exclusively for the global superstar in the elegant style of a classic concert grand.
