Veuve Clicquot

Refrigerator Vertical Limit

The champagne cooler translates principles from product and furniture design into a functional object for storage and presentation. Clear geometries, reduced surfaces, and a precise composition structure the volume and direct attention to its contents. The design combines technical requirements with a calm, architectural formal language.

The reinvention of the wine cellar, a work of art, a flagship product – Veuve Cliquot’s brief was exciting but also very open-ended. They were looking for something completely unprecedented, for a presentation capable of showcasing twelve vintage magnum bottles of the finest champagne in a spectacular way, for an object that would be coveted by collectors and would bring this classic luxury drink into the twenty-first century.

What Studio F. A. Porsche ultimately unveiled was a 2.30-metre-high stainless steel monolith. Handcrafted and limited to 15 pieces, with a price of up to €100,000 per piece.

Each Vintage Magnum has its own refrigerated compartment, marked with the year, and when opened, the surrounding area is bathed in orange light. A meeting of exquisite champagne and the future!
