Timepieces Monobloc Actuator
New Edition of an Icon
When Porsche launched the matte black Chronograph I in 1972, it was a sensation and completely overturned the previous idea of a wristwatch as a purely decorative accessory. Inspired by a race car’s dashboard and designed to be a highly legibly instrument as opposed to a mere decoration, the Chronograph I redefined the product category of watches from the moment it was created.

The actuator thus appears to be a single, seamless unit, with only the crown protruding from the watch. We have integrated the start and stop buttons into the case.
Two elegant grooves mark the rocker arm used to operate the stopwatch. The recessed, seven-layer coated sapphire crystal is protected against scratches, whilst the precisely finished chamfers and the integrated strap attachment ensure a radically minimalist design.

Unlike the digital and quartz watches commonly found today, the Actuator is powered by a purely mechanical, high-precision movement manufactured in-house by our own company, Timepieces AG, in Switzerland.
In terms of both technology and design, this chronograph is engineered for durability and timelessness, embodying the design philosophy that our brand has stood for for almost 50 years.
